MERRY XMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Wishing all our friends and family a joyus time and a time of wonderment for the kids.

Sharon loves to do our tree at Xmas, most of the decorations are real xmas ornaments or just fun items we've picked up on our travels over the centuries. Reminds us of the fun we’ve had and things we’ve seen over the years.

Talking of “years and centuries” a few of the ornaments are almost 100 years old now. Grannie gave them to Sharon many years back, they’re her treasures now. Here's a couple of them.

Then someone sent this to Sharon, brought a smile to us and warm balls to the cat.

OH, OH, MEXICO.

Sunrise from our place at Solmar.

Off once more down to Solmar, in Cabo.

We're on our way, we've got to pack.
We're on our way, we won't be back.
We're on our way we haven't got a dime
but we're going and we're gonna have a happy time.

Cabo Pulmo, home of the only coral reef in Mexico and OF the worlds best shrimp tacos!

I KNOW THAT WHEN ONE HAS A BLOG one should write every day or every couple of days just to keep it up but with the traveling about we did and the spotty Wifi it wasn’t worth the effort. Or I should say that when we weren’t traveling, I just wanted to rest and read…. Oh and drink Pina Coladas.

I was outside working just now. Finishing a job I started before we went away. We were just wrapping it up when I realized that I couldn’t feel the tips of my thumbs and it was starting to snow. That’s not right! It was just one week ago, yes last Sunday morning 2AM when we arrived home here. Home to a nearly 80 degree F. temperature change. My blood is just too thin for this stuff, we should have stayed until the sun came back over the horizon, about May 1 for my birthday.

We did have a wonderful time though, we both like our old place at Solmar. It’s one of the older time shares in Cabo, has a nice old time charm about it and the staff are great. John Wayne was one of the original investors in the place.

It’s going through some changes and expansion at the moment, they’re building a grand new wing up against the mountain. Supposed to be done at the end of 2011.….right!!!!

Didn’t affect us though, we rented a car for the two weeks and did some exploring. Revisiting places we’d seen and liked before and finding new stuff. We actually went through 2 cars, broke the first so they brought replacement, a better and newer model to the hotel for us.

Still like Todos Santos, had a nice lunch at the coffee shop there one day and of course we had lunch at Miguel’s another day. That worked out nice while the tire shop across the road repaired a puncture for us!

Two more sunrise photos from the beach below our place.

Got a nice 'swim up' bar to this pool, quiet at lunchtime though.

Went sailing again on this guy. One of the Kiwi AC boats.

Nice place to take your book and Pina Colada late afternoons and join the crowd???

Three mors shots from the same area of the beach.

Sunset cruise, fun way to watch the sun going down on the water

The sun goes down for us over the rocks at the west end of the beach.

With Sharon in San Jose Del Cabo, about 20 miles northeast of Cabo San Lucas. A french bakery and Cafe, two photos.

The next six shots are from in and around San Jose and the new marina.
Complete with Paul Allen's boat coming down the street.

Cabo Pulmo and reef from the cafe. Still have great shrimp tacos.

Somebody mention shrimp tacos..?

Gate, in Todos Santos.

Inside the Todos Santos cafe and the crowded beach again.

The next three shots are from Encanto de la Laguna. Beautiful spot just north of the marina, one of my favorite places and of course one of the more expensive.

The resident hawk wainting for our return to Camano Island.
